Our partnerships

Find out how we’ve made life more inclusive with a selection of our current partners.

Auto Trader

Auto Trader have been working in partnership with RNID to help make their workplace more accessible to its employees who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus. RNID has provided a variety of products and services to Auto Trader, including communication support, workplace assessments, deaf awareness training and BSL courses, that has improved workplace accessibility and enabled Auto Trader to become a deaf aware employer. The result has been the creation of a more accessible workplace that has improved communication within Auto Trader.

We’ve also been thrilled to have Auto Trader support our hearing check campaign, where they are giving a £3 donation to RNID for each employee who is taking our easy online hearing check, not only helping employees but also supporting RNID as a charity.

Connevans

In 2020 we partnered with Connevans, one of the leading suppliers of assistive technology, to offer products and equipment for deaf people and those with hearing loss or tinnitus. We receive a 10% donation for every purchase from the online shop to help fund our vital work.

Connevans also trains our staff, updates us on new products, and supports our local engagement and workplace assessment teams. They are committed to working with our charity and our supporters to identify product needs that are not being met and help bring them to market.

Contacta

In 2021, we partnered with Contacta Systems Ltd, a global leader of assistive listening technologies. With over 50 years’ experience, Contacta’s expertise includes design, manufacturing, and installation of hearing loop systems in the built environment, compliant to the relevant industry standards. They also provide excellent-value annual maintenance contracts to ensure that everything stays in working order.

We receive a 5% donation for every hearing loop system installed and referred to Contacta via our dedicated email address RNID@Contacta.co.uk.

Contacta are committed to working with RNID and our communities to create inclusive and accessible environments for hearing aid users.

Call Systems Technology

Call Systems Technology (CST) provide advanced on-site communication and critical alert solutions for businesses to thrive.

CST’s ‘DeafCall’ products play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of people who are deaf or have hearing loss when on business premises, as they quickly alert everyone in case of emergencies like fires, security breaches, or other critical situations. These products also have their own dedicated OFCOM frequency license, preventing signal disruptions and ensuring their reliability.

For every DeafCall product referred through our dedicated email address RNID@Call-systems.com, CST generously donates 25% of the profit to us!

We’re really grateful for CST support, and their work to create accessible environments with innovative solutions for people who are deaf or have hearing loss.

You can find more information on the CST website.

PA Consulting

RNID has a strategic collaboration with PA Consulting, the consultancy that’s bringing ingenuity to life. PA’s diverse teams of experts combine innovative thinking and breakthrough technologies to progress further, faster. Technology is a huge enabler for society to become more inclusive for the 12 million people in the UK who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus, to create genuine equality of access to information, products, and services.

PA has provided expert pro bono analysis and advice as part of RNID’s Health programme. This work helped to identify and validate the best interventions to improve access and outcomes for people with hearing loss, and to engage the right senior NHS support to put these interventions into action.

PA is committed to being an inclusive employer for the 1 in 8 people of working age who are deaf, have hearing loss or tinnitus. As part of RNID’s Employment programme, PA is also encouraging their employees and audiences to check their hearing using RNID’s quick, free and simple hearing check. And PA is working together with RNID to encourage PA’s clients to get involved too.

Port Growth Partners

Port Growth Partners provide consultancy services to innovative technology companies looking to accelerate their growth: headed up by entrepreneur and technology specialist, Martin Port, as Director.

As someone with personal experience of hearing loss, Martin is aware of the challenges and obstacles that can be faced: particularly in school, in the workplace, in the availability of fully accessible platforms. Martin is passionate that with the right tools and support, obstacles can be overcome and for this reason, has brought Port Growth Partners and RNID to work together.

Port Growth Partners is generously supporting RNID’s fundraising activities in 2022 so that we can continue to break down remaining barriers to accessibility and equality, and to make society more inclusive for everyone.

Scrap Car Comparison

We are thrilled that Scrap Car Comparison has chosen RNID to be its ‘Charity of the Month’ for May 2022, in time for Deaf Awareness Week.

A member of Scrap Car Comparison’s sales team nominated RNID as a charity close to their heart. Starting May 1, the team have been asking customers to kindly donate a small portion of car sales to our charity. Scrap Car Comparison help people compare over 100 buyers for damaged or scrapped cars.

During Deaf Awareness Week the workforce took part in a Deaf Awareness seminar, led by our trained expert to help them start their journey to become a more accessible organisation.

Smart Energy GB

Smart Energy GB, the organisation responsible for informing the people of Britain of the roll out of smart energy meters, approached us as they needed to connect with severe and profoundly deaf people. They had identified from their research that these groups were not engaging with the campaign: they were not making contact with their energy suppliers to find out more about how the new meters could make a difference to their lives.

In 2021, we worked with Smart Energy GB to put together a package of communications specifically tailored to an audience we know well and who trust us. Together, we used all our communication channels – to develop a package of communications that would convey Smart Energy GB’s core messaging
