RNID is the supporting sponsor of the Royal National Institute for the Deaf Pension and Life Assurance Scheme. The Scheme was created in September 1958 to provide pension provision for the charity’s employees and it was closed to new employees in October 2001.
The Scheme is under the stewardship of Pension Trustees, a combination of both member and company appointed, who have a fiduciary duty to act in the best interests of the pension scheme and its members to ensure that benefits are paid as they fall due. The Trustees are also responsible for ensuring that the Scheme’s statutory documentation is kept up to date and is compliant with the governing legislation.
New regulations have come into force which require, the Scheme to make certain information available online. This information is contained in the Statement of Investment Principles and the Implementation Statement, which describes the investment policy and arrangements being pursued by the Trustees of the Scheme.
