Hearing aids and implants

If you have hearing loss, a hearing aid or implant could help you to hear better and communicate more confidently.

Hearing aids

Hearing aids can:

  • make quieter sounds easier to hear
  • make loud sounds more comfortable
  • make conversations easier
  • help you enjoy music, TV and the radio
  • help you hear in noisy places

Hearing implants

A hearing implant may be an option for you if:

  • you get little to no benefit from hearing aids
  • you cannot use hearing aids for medical reasons

There are different types of implants. Talk to your GP or audiologist if you think a hearing implant might help you.
