RNID Connect: Advocacy and allyship

RNID Connect Month 4: Advocacy and Allyship

This month has an important focus: advocacy and allyship. Let’s get cracking!

These new BSL words revolve around our connections and relationships. Sharing about our loved ones is a great way to forge new friendships.

Things to remember when using BSL

    • Remember to use facial expressions as well as signing with your hands – watch the videos carefully below. BSL users will read your face as well as your hands.

    • Remember to face the person you’re communicating with directly, so they can see you clearly.

    • Practice makes perfect. Practice BSL in front of a mirror, or with friends and family, to embed your learning.
