Purpose of this form
This page sets out a shared understanding between RNID and members of the advisory board for this project. It outlines what you can expect from us, what we ask from you, and how we’ll work together respectfully and confidentially.
Your role as an advisory board member
As a member of the advisory board, your lived experience is vital to this project. We ask that you:
- Take part in meetings over the course of the project as detailed in the project information and for the full duration of the project.
- Support in-between activities (like reading materials or short tasks) where possible and reasonable.
- Stay engaged throughout the project and let us know if your circumstances change.
- Give reasonable notice if you can’t attend a meeting, or if you decide to step back from the group.
- Take part in a respectful and constructive way, in line with the group’s ground rules.
RNID reserves the right to end someone’s involvement in the group if their behaviour is harmful, discriminatory, or consistently disruptive to the group.
What you can expect from RNID
RNID commits to:
- Keeping you informed and supported throughout the project, with reasonable notice for meetings and tasks.
- Being flexible and respectful of your time, access needs, and communication preferences.
- Making prompt incentive payments after each meeting or activity.
- Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment, guided by agreed group ground rules.
- Protecting your personal information and only using your input in clearly explained ways (e.g. anonymised if shared publicly).
- Only sharing appropriate information with you, in line with our responsibilities.
- Responding appropriately to any safeguarding concerns, following our internal safeguarding policies.
Confidentiality
To create a safe, trusting space, we ask everyone in the group to agree to the following:
- Do not share any personal experiences or information shared by other group members outside of the group.
- Do not share project materials, updates, funding information, or internal RNID discussions with others outside the project without permission.
- RNID will also keep your personal details confidential and will only use your input in the ways we have explained and agreed with you
This agreement helps us build an open and respectful environment for everyone involved.
Commitment to the project
By submitting this form, you are confirming that:
- You are happy to be part of the advisory board for the full duration of the project.
- You understand what’s expected and are committed to contributing to the best of your ability.
- You will let us know as soon as possible if you need to step back or take a break from the project.
